Building the set:
This set includes 6 numbered bags which holds the pieces to build the vehicles and accessories of this set. The set has 2 easy to follow instruction books. Bag #1 has the pieces to build the ATV, gas pump, 2 minifigures, 1 brick separator and a rolling board. Bag #2 has the pieces to build the red car and the green platform for the car. Bag #3 has the pieces to build the yellow sports car. Bag #4 has the pieces to build the blue coloured jeep. Bag #5 has the pieces to build the orange tow truck. The final bag has extra pieces for your own designs. The build is very easy to follow and takes only 1-2 hours to build. The bag of extra pieces is a bonus to the set. The bad thing about the extra pieces is that it has and odd amount of extra parts. For example, the extra bag only comes with 1 large wheel.
The Minifigures:
This Lego set comes with only 2 minifigures with plenty of accessories. Both of the minifigures look like mechanics. Lego should have put more minifigures in the set because the set comes with 5 vehicles and with the 2 minifigures, there would be 3 empty vehicles sitting around.
The ATV:
The ATV is very nicely built and comes with a mix of lime green and medium green pieces. The cap of the second minifigure matches the colour of the sides of the ATV. The ATV is made up of small plates and bricks.
Rating of the ATV: 4.5/5
The Red Car:
The red car has a mix of red and white pieces on the outside. It has many orange plates on the inside of the car. The car uses many sloped pieces for the shape of the car.
Rating of the red car: 4/5
The Yellow Sports Car:
The Yellow Sports Car is much longer and wider than the red car. The yellow sports car also uses more pieces than the red car. It is made up of many black coloured plates and special parts. The engine can be accessed by opening the trunk at the front. Lego did a very nice job in designing this car using many yellow pieces on the outside and using other colours on the inside.
Rating of the yellow sports car: 4.5/5
The Blue Jeep:
The blue jeep is made up of many grey and black pieces on the inside and has a mix of royal blue and hard-to-find light blue pieces on the outside. Lego did a good job making the arches over the front wheels. They used a yellow coloured seat piece in the jeep for the minifigure to sit in. There is an extra wheel on the back of the truck in case one of the tires break. There is space at the back of the jeep for extra things to put in and a tool holder.
Rating of the blue jeep: 5/5
The Orange Tow Truck:
The orange tow truck is made up of many orange pieces. There is no windshield at the front of the truck. There is a grey coloured seat in the front of the truck for the minifigure to sit on. There is a functional tow at the back of the truck which can hook onto the front of the other vehicles. There is another tool holder right behind the driver's area and plenty of space at the back of the truck. There are doors on the side of the truck for the minifigure to get to get in and out.
Rating of the orange tow truck: 5/5
Summary:
The price of the set is pretty expensive. You get 525 pieces for $40/$30/£25/30€ which isn't such a great deal comparing with the Mega Bloks Fire Patrol Station. We recommend getting this set if you are looking for many wheels and parts to make vehicles for your Lego City. There are plenty of other ideas you can also build with this set. This set comes with a lot of special parts which is good for people who are looking for sets with special pieces. Other than the expensive price, this is a good set to buy. The vehicles are very detailed and well built in this set just like any other Lego set.
