Building the set:

This Fire Patrol Station has an amazing amount of bags and pieces. It comes with 8 main bags plus more smaller bags. The pieces are organized by colour and type. The set takes 3-5 hours to build and is a fun and confusing build. The instructions are easy to read and show what pieces you need to get at the top and where you need to place the pieces at the bottom. At some points of the build, they will ask to place stickers on some of the pieces. The first thing you build are the figures (5 are included). The heads of the figures are very hard to attach to the body but after a while you can get the heads on. After you build the figures, it shows how to build the pickup truck which took half an hour to build. then, it showed how to build the helicopter, the main fire engine, the tool van and the station. The build was pretty challenging because of how many pieces there are to find.

The Firefighter Figures:

The set comes with 5 unique figures with different names. There is 1 firefighter for each vehicle, plus 1 firefighter to look after the station. The only thing bad about the figures are that the heads are very hard to attach onto the figure.

The Pickup Truck:
The pickup truck has 4 small rubber wheels attached to the bottom and a place inside the vehicle for the figure to sit. There is a steering wheel inside the truck which is a bonus feature in this pickup truck. The back of the pickup truck has space for you to place something and has a hose piece. The front windshield comes off very easily when putting the figure in the truck. This is a very durable truck and can move very far when pushed with your hand.

Rating of the pickup truck: 4/5

The Helicopter:

The helicopter has 2 rotors (1 at the top and 1 at the back). It has 2 transparent pieces at the bottom-front and two more transparent pieces at the top. The best thing about the helicopter is the flip up windshield which makes it very easy to place the figure inside. The back of the helicopter is very durable and the rotors spin for a long time before stopping.

Rating of the helicopter: 4.5/5

The Main Fire Engine:

The main fire engine is very durable and highly detailed. It has a wider windshield than the pickup truck and 2 figures can fit in the driver's area. There are pieces right beside the windshield that act as mirrors. The back of the truck has an extendable ladder that can be moved around. Mega Bloks Figures can easily grip onto the ladder. The piece holding the ladder easily comes off when you are moving the ladder around.

Rating of the fire engine: 4.5/5

The Tool Van:

The tool van holds 4 of the firefighter's equipment which includes an axe, an oxygen tank, a fire extinguisher and a long hammer. There are doors at the side of the van which easily open for the firefighters to access the tools. There are pieces beside the windshield that act as mirrors. Only 1 figure can fit inside the van. The inside of the van is very nicely built to hold the tools.

Rating of the tool van: 5/5

The Fire Station:

The fire station has 2 parts which is the main headquarters and the vehicle parking space. The main headquarters has a transparent door and many windows. The bottom floor has a small office for the firefighter to work in. There is a small yellow chair for the figure to sit in. The office has only a small amount of space for the figure to walk in. Right beside the office is the equipment room which holds most of the yellow coloured firefighter tools. the upper floor has a command room with 3 computer screens and a keyboard. The upper floor has short stairs that leads to the helecopter landing site. On the front of the main headquarters, there is a gold coloured analog clock and two lanterns hanging from the wall.

The vehicle parking space has 2 parking spaces for the truck and the van. The pickup truck stays outside. On the top of the 2 parking spaces are 2 large base plates which is the helicopter landing site. There are 8 roadblocks at the back of the base plates. There are also 2 more lanterns right above the parking spaces.

Rating of the fire station: 4.5/5

Summary:
We recommend this toy to anyone who likes building with Lego. People who like firefighters would enjoy this set a lot. Mega Bloks did a great job making all the vehicles very durable. The amount of pieces you get for $40/£70 is worth it. The only thing missing from this set are oxygen masks for the firefighters. This set has a total of 40 stickers that you have to stick on and 16 extra stickers.
